玫瑰是美國國花。
為了表徵美國人對玫瑰的喜愛，訂定六月為美國玫瑰月。
1986年美國參議員約翰登提議，把象徵美麗、芬芳、熱忱和愛情的玫瑰做為美國的國花，這項提議在參議院通過後經雷根總統簽署生效。
